Twenty-six year old Solem recently completed a summer tour with the United States Equestrian Team. She competed in Nations Cups in Rotterdam, Holland (which was also a Samsung Super League event), Lummen, Belgium, and Falsterbo, Sweden. At Rotterdam and Falsterbo, Solem rode the 13 year old Rheinlander mare Allison, who was clear in both first rounds of the challenging international classes. Allison is owned by Carol Thompson and B.J. Maghan. Her other mount Mianta, an 11 year old Dutch Warmblood owned by Carol Thompson, Emil Spadone, and Tracy Blumburg, won the Derby qualifier in Falsterbo and placed fourth in both the qualifier for the Grand Prix of Rotterdam and the speed class in Lummen. In addition, Mianta won the 2005 Empire State Grand Prix at the Old Salem Horse Show. |
