Bates has a long list of credentials and wins for her native country of Australia. These include being longlisted for the Australian Eventing Team for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics (at 21 years of age) and the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In 2002, she and Newsprint won the Melbourne Three-Day Event CCI 1*, the Albury ODE CIC 1*, and the Boondiwindi ODE CIC 1*. Her other top mount, Reprint, was sold to American Event rider Ralph Hill in 2003. Since 1998, Bates has had fourteen Top Five finishes in National One Day Events, and was named the Australian One Day Eventing Champion in 1998. |
