Detroit Horse Power is committed to creating safe and enriching riding spaces for the city’s vulnerable children.
Founded by a former elementary school teacher, this 501(c)3 teaches urban children to ride and care for horses as a way to develop critical skills to set them up for future success.
With plans to contribute to urban renewal by building an youth equestrian center on repurposed, vacant land by 2024, DHP will bring year-round riding activities and community events, back to the city. Currently it relies on satellite farms including Equinox, WIllowbrooke Farm and O.A.T.S. to host its riding.
